ITRIGUING BLOWN MOLDED PATTY PAN C. 1840

ITEM 6986. BLOWN MOLDED PATTY PAN, colorless, cylindrical, pontil scar, 1 ¾"H x 5 3/8"D, folded rim, mint. American, 1830-1850, mint. This unusual pan was blown in a mold more commonly used in the production of peg lamps. Such usage of molds was common in the period, as glassblowers were easily able to create dramatically different forms gathers patterned in the same mold. SOLD!
