UNUSUAL PAIR OF TUMBLER CREATED FROM A BOTTLE MOLD

ITEM 6985. PAIR OF MOLDED GLASS TUMBLERS, clear with milky white opalescent swirls, cylindrical, pontil scars, 3 1/8"H, sheared and tooled mouths, about mint (each tumbler has some minor base edge flaking). American, 1830-1850, rare. Likely blown in a two-piece mold more commonly utilized in the production of castor bottles, these unusual tumblers are the first of their type that we have encountered. Both of the tumblers are well blown with good detailing and the fiery opalescent swirling adds visual drama to each. SOLD!
