ITEM 6974. BLOWN GLASS PITCHER,
medium blue green, bulbous body with applied crimped foot, applied
neck threading and applied solid glass handle, tubular pontil
scar, 5 ½"H, sheared and tooled mouth with pour spout,
mint. American, probably blown at a Western New York State Glass
House, 1830-1850. Ex. George McKearin, ex. Crawford Wettlauffer,
ex. David Good, ex. Jack Whistance.
Over the years this spectacular pitcher has been owned by a veritable
"who's who" of America's finest dealers and collectors.
The piece is a tour de force of the glassblower's art and a wonderful
piece of true folk art.
