VERY RARE GII-141 INDIAN SHOOTING BIRD QUART

ITEM 6872. EAGLE OVER MONUMENT - INDIAN SHOOTING BIRD, (McK# GII-141), aquamarine, smooth base, quart, applied mouth with ring, about mint (scattered exterior scratching). Probably blown at a Pittsburgh Glass House, C. 1870, very rare. Listed as #15 in Group C of McKearin's most desirable flasks.

Over the years we have bought and sold several examples of the GII-142 quart but this is our first opportunity to offer the similar but decidedly more elusive GII-141. As shown, the piece exhibits exceptional mold detailing, placing it in stark contrast to the few other examples of this mold we have seen, each of which was plagued with poor embossing.
