CRISPLY DEFINED GVI-1 BALTIMORE HALF-PINT - RARE COLOR!

ITEM 6862. "A / LITTLE / MORE / GRAPE / CAPT. BRAG" - BALTIMORE MONUMENT, (McK#GVI-1), aquamarine, tubular pontil scar, half-pint, sheared and fire polished mouth, a mint flask with a manufacturer's pontil chip located directly underneath the base of the monument. Blown at the Baltimore Glass Works, C.1830, rare color.

This sweet little Baltimore flask is as fine an example as one could hope to find. The GVI-1 mold is often plagued by muddy (sometimes non-existent) mold impressions but as the photos show, this example exhibits exceptional clarity and detailing. There is no wear at the high points and the glass exhibits pleasing crudity with a plethora of bubbles and swirl lines adding character.
