EXTRA BUBBLY GV-9 COVENTRY RAILROAD

ITEM 6853. HORSE AND CART - EAGLE, (McK# GV-9), golden olive amber, pontil scar, pint, sheared and fire polished mouth, a mint flask with a somewhat weakened mold impression. Blown at the Coventry Glass Works, Coventry, CT, 1830-1850.

This abnormally thick, crude and syrupy railroad flask is a superb example that is overflowing with character. Although blown using an overly ambitious gather of metal, the flask passes light with ease and the glass is awash is a sea of tiny bubbles.
