ITEM 6834. "DR. CURTIS' - INHALING / HYGEAN VAPOR - NEW YORK," (Greer #446), amethystine, rectangular, huge tubular pontil scar, 7 ¼"H, applied collar with ring, mint. American, C. 1850, scarce.

Boldly embossed and decidedly "pinkish," this attractive medicine is as fine an example of its type as we have encountered. The bottle is attic perfect and the base sports an astounding "doughnut-type" tubular pontil scar that causes the bottle to lean noticeably when standing (while remaining stable for display). A thread of olive green glass in the applied mouth adds further charm to this already very attractive piece of early glass.
