ITEM 6772. FREEBLOWN GLOBULAR
BOTTLE, bright yellow olive, pontil scar, 10 1/2"H, crudely
applied mouth, a mint bottle retaining some washable content
residue. American, probably blown at a Connecticut Glass Works,
1790-1820.
This superb New England globular bottle is a fresh-to-the-market
offering that was found in a Southern Vermont home. The bottle
is bright, clean and almost impossibly crude with loads of swirls,
bubbles and unmelted sand grains. There is very little exterior
wear (a problem that so often plagues these globs) and the piece
is topped by a delightfully sloppy mouth treatment.
