UNUSUAL THREE-PIECE MOLD JAR MADE FROM A WHISKEY MOLD

ITEM 6717. THREE-PIECE MOLD UTILITY JAR, medium to deep apple green, cylindrical, sand-chip pontil scar, 8 ¼"H, applied mouth, mint. American, C. 1840, rare.

This attractive jar was blown in a whiskey bottle mold for general form and then modified by expanding the neck and mouth. The brightly colored glass is awash in a trail of foamy bubbles and the jar retains a pleasingly brilliant exterior luster.
