ITEM 6621. "CONGRESS &
EMPIRE SPRING CO. / C / SARATOGA. N.Y.," (Tucker# C-14:A
Type 3), bright yellow olive, two-piece mold cylinder, smooth
base with embossed centering circle, quart, applied sloping collar
with ring, about mint (shallow, 1/16" flake on the lower
bevel of the applied collar). American, C. 1875, rare.
Catalogued by Tucker as "rare" in this color, this
crude and bubbly Congress quart is also quite beautiful. The
bottle is one that Holly and I owned in the 90s and it is a pleasure
to reacquire the piece and again offer it to the collectors.
