strong bluish aquamarine, tubular pontil scar, 4 5/8"H x
8 ½"D, heavily folded rim, a well-used bowl with
generous signs of wear. American, probably blown at a Western
New York State Glass House, C. 1840.
This soulful deep bowl is a little smaller than most and it shows
ample signs of 19th century use. The piece is blown from a heavy
gather of aquamarine bottle glass consistent with the typical
output of the Redwood and Redford works in Western New York State.
