ITEM 6552. PATTERN MOLDED GLOBULAR
BOTTLE, bright orange amber, 24 ribs swirled to the right, pontil
scar, 7"H, outwardly folded mouth, a mint bottle exhibiting
the expected usage wear. Midwestern, probably blown at the Zanesville
Glass Works, Zanesville, OH, 1820-1840.
It is this bottle's perfect proportions, bold ribbing and smaller
than normal stature that make it a superb example of its type.
The bottle is formed in the "classic" Zanesville style
with a bulbous, almost spherical body and a short, tightly ribbed
neck that is perfectly centered.
