EMPIRE SPRING CO / E / SARATOGA. N. Y.", (Tucker# E-6:A
Type 1), brilliant orange amber, cylindrical, smooth base, quart,
applied sloping collar with ring, a mint bottle with a pea-sized
bubble on the shoulder that is open at the surface and onionskin
in depth. Probably blown at a Stoddard Glass Works, Stoddard,
NH, 1865-1872, scarce.
This truly fine Stoddard quart is an attic quality example with
good color, bold embossing and brilliant glass.
