10"H, applied sloping collar, a mint bottle retaining some
content residue. American, 1855-1865, scarce.
This scarcely encountered and
brightly colored bottle was among the most pleasant of several
surprises found in a small "closet collection" purchased
earlier this week. It has been some time since we have had a
Charles' Gin and if we have sold one nicer than this example
it escapes my memory. As the photos show, the bottle is brightly
colored, boldly embossed and pleasantly crude. There is NO damage
or wear and the noted interior residue would clean with soap
and water.
