18TH CENTURY NEW JERSEY CHESTNUT BOTTLE - UNUSUAL COLOR

ITEM 6371. CHESTNUT BOTTLE, bright yellow amber with a strong olive cast, tubular pontil scar, 8 3/4"H, crudely applied mouth, a mint bottle with some exterior wear. American, probably blown at a Mid-Atlantic States Glass House, late 18th century, rare color.

The color of this interesting South Jersey chestnut bottle is unlike any other we have offered, exhibiting a strong olive tone. The bottle does exhibit some wear as one would expect of a utilitarian object from the 18th century but there is no damage.
