Blown in the German half-post method in the first half of the 18th century, this pattern molded spirits flask (or "nabelflasche as it was known regionally) is a very rare survivor of the period. Holding just a half-pint of spirits, the flask is blown from a lightweight metal of surprising quality. The boldly embossed ribbing and dramatically intense blue color make this a piece with an imposing visual presence. SOLD! |
