FOLKY LOCKPORT, NY GXIII-28 DUCK FLASK

ITEM 6240. "WILL YOU TAKE / A DRINK? / WILL A / (motif of duck) / SWIM?," (McK#GXIII-28), bluish aquamarine, smooth base, pint, applied mouth with ring, about mint (mint exterior wear and dullness). American, probably blown at the Lockport Glass Works, Lockport, NY, C. 1860, scarce.

Abnormally crude, bold embossed and topped by a sloppily applied collar, this Lockport pint stands in pleasant contrast to the rather plain examples of this flask we have encountered in the past. Though not technically perfect, the noted wear and dullness is a minor issue that could easily be remedied by a quick tumble is the new owner deems it necessary.
