5 1/2" CHESTNUT BOTTLE WITH HAND CARVED STOPPER

ITEM 6180. CHESTNUT BOTTLE, pale olive green, pontil scar, 5 1/2"H, crudely applied mouth, mint. Blown at a New England Glass Works, 1790-1820.

This wonderful little bottle is fitted with a carved wooden stopper that was fashioned in the Nineteenth Century. Undoubtedly made for THIS BOTTLE, the stopper is a perfect fit. The bottle itself is a gem - the glass is filled with tiny bubbles and the pale olive green color is most pleasing to the eye.
