ITEM 6159. PATTERN MOLDED POCKET
FLASK, medium blue green, 24 ribs swirled to the left, pontil
scar, 6 ¼"H, sheared and fire polished lip, a mint
flask exhibiting the expected usage wear. Blown at a Midwestern
Glass House, 1815-1840, scarce color.
This wonderful flask is richly colored, strongly patterned and
beautifully formed. Flasks of this type were blown in Glass Houses
throughout the Midwest in the first half of the Nineteenth Century.
Common in aqua, they are scarcely found in colors and as shown,
this example possesses strong color that does not wash out in
direct lighting.
