AQUAMARINE BLOWN GLASS CREAMER WITH THREADED NECK

ITEM 6146. BLOWN GLASS CREAMER, greenish aquamarine, cylindrical with gradually sloping shoulders, applied solid glass handle with trailed rigaree and applied neck rings, pontil scar, 3 3/16"H, mint. American, 1830-1850.

This perfectly proportioned and well-executed creamer is small but surprisingly sturdy, with good weight distribution and a wonderful feel in the hand. I have seen creamers of this type attributed to both New York and New Jersey and either seems a likely place of origin for this nifty little piece of American blown glass.
