ITEM 6146. BLOWN GLASS CREAMER,
greenish aquamarine, cylindrical with gradually sloping shoulders,
applied solid glass handle with trailed rigaree and applied neck
rings, pontil scar, 3 3/16"H, mint. American, 1830-1850.
This perfectly proportioned and well-executed creamer is small
but surprisingly sturdy, with good weight distribution and a
wonderful feel in the hand. I have seen creamers of this type
attributed to both New York and New Jersey and either seems a
likely place of origin for this nifty little piece of American
blown glass.
