18TH
CENTURY PITKIN-TYPE FLASK - WISTARBURGH?
ITEM 6094. PITKIN-TYPE FLASK,
clear olive green, 16 ribs, ribbed and swirled to the right,
pontil scar, 5 5/8"H, crudely sheared and fire polished
mouth, a mint flask exhibiting some usage wear. American, mid
to late 18th century.
This rare and very early Pitkin-type flask is of the type that
may well have been blown at Wistarburgh. The flask's color and
rib count are consistent with known Wistarburgh products and
the form of the piece is decidedly 18th century.
