ITEM 5989. PATTERN MOLDED NURSER
OR POCKET FLASK WITH ORIGINAL PEWTER CLOSURE, pale green, 16
vertical ribs, pontil scar, 5 ¾"H, sheared and fire
polished mouth with applied threaded pewter closure, mint. Probably
American, possibly late 18th century South Jersey, rare.
Although it was found in Maine, it is my best estimation that
this is a New Jersey piece that dates to the 18th century. The
bottle is unlike any we have encountered and as shown, it is
a diminutive object with exceptional form and loads of character.
