RARE AQUA WINDOW GLASS MELON INK - WILLIAM COVILL COLLECTION

ITEM 5902. MELON INKWELL, aquamarine window glass, pontil scar, 1 1/8"H, sheared mouth, mint. American, 1820-1840, rare. ex. William Covill Collection. This funky little ink is quite unlike anything we have previously encountered. Blown from amazingly light and delicate widow glass, it is my best guess that the ink was at one time housed in cork. The bottle is pictured in Covill's book and it is truly an amazing survivor.   SOLD!
