ITEM 5783. "WILLINGTON GLASS
WORKS" (on base) WHISKEY BOTTLE, golden amber, three-piece
mold cylinder, smooth base, 11 3/8"H, applied sloping collar
with ring, mint. Blown at the Willington Glass Works, West Willington,
CT, 1860-1872, scarce.
As shown, this is the scarce variation of the base embossed Willington
cylinders with the backwards "Ns" and "Ss."
The bottle is fresh from a Vermont estate and it is an absolutely
PERFECT example with no damage or wear. The base embossing is
bolder than most and the glass exhibits good overall crudity.
