ITEM 5772. FOOTED BOWL, deep
aquamarine, pontil scar, 3 ½"H and 6 ¼"D,
outwardly folded rim, as blown with a potstone bruise at the
edge of the applied foot. American, probably blown at a Pittsburgh
District Glass House, 1820-1850.
When we bought this bowl from Brian Cullity we had designs of
"keeping it" but we have since made a substantial addition
to our collection and thus it is now "for sale." Our
assumption is that the bowl is of Pittsburgh manufacture, as
the brilliance of the metal, relatively solid pontil scar and
general form all point towards a Pittsburgh attribution.
