ITEM 5764. DENTIFRICE JAR WITH ORIGINAL PEWTER COVER, purple amethyst, 12-sided, early smooth base, 2 1/2"H, ground mouth, mint. American, probably blown at the Boston and Sandwich Glass Works, Sandwich, MA, 1860-1888, rare.

Jars of this type are generally attributed to Sandwich and they are blown from the same type of glass that one will see in a Sandwich cologne. This fine example retains its original pewter cover and as shown, it is blown in the perfect shade of amethyst.
