ITEM 5757. PITKIN-TYPE INKWELL,
clear yellow olive, 36 ribs, ribbed and swirled to the left,
pontil scar, 1 ¾"H, outwardly tooled disc mouth,
several pinhead sized body flakes as a result of usage. Blown
at an early New England Glass House, 1790-1820, rare.
Although it is not technically "perfect," this attractive
ink shows good signs of wear and as a result, it exhibits the
"soul" one would expect of a well-used 18th century
utilitarian object.
