CLEAR MOSSY GREEN PONTILED SWAIM'S PANACEA

ITEM 5733. "SWAIM'S - PANACEA - PHILADA," clear mossy green, cylindrical with indented panels, sand chip pontil scar, 8 ½"H, crudely applied sloping collar with ring, a mint bottle with a manufacturer's "dip" in the lip. American, C. 1840.

Perfect as the day it was blown, this attic-quality Swaim's Panacea bottle is distinguished by its extremely crude mouth treatment and extremely bold embossing. Clearly showing signs that it was hand-made, this beautiful bottle is truly a great example and a perfect conversation piece.
