ITEM 5731. "BENJAMIN GREEN / APOTHECARY / PORTSMOUTH, NH," cobalt blue, rectangular, smooth base, 7 ½"H, hand-tooled square collar, a mint bottle with a touch of exterior dullness and some minor interior fogging. Blown at the Whitall Tatum Glass Works, Millville, NJ, C. 1885, very scarce.

Although we are certainly in close enough proximity to Portsmouth for one to think we would happen upon this attractive bottle from time-to-time, it has been four or five years since we have been able to acquire an example of this hard-to-find New England bottle. Crisply blown in a brilliant shade of blue glass, this nearly perfect example is a truly fine bottle that any collector would be proud to call their own.
