ITEM 5660. UMBRELLA INK, bright
orange amber with strong red highlights, octagonal, pontil scar,
2 5/8"H x 2 3/8"D, tooled and expanded mouth, mint.
New England, probably blown at a Stoddard Glass Works, Stoddard,
NH, 1840-1860.
Bought YEARS ago from noted dealer Ron Rainka, we parted with
this little gem when we sold off our collection of umbrella inks
and it is with great pleasure that were able to reacquire the
bottle and offer it once again. Of the "Stoddard" inks
we have owned (and there have been a lot of them) this piece
has always stood out as "the best" because of the great
color and absolutely WILD mouth treatment. You will never find
another quite like this one!
