VERY RARE GREEN MOUNTAIN CIDER BITTERS - MINT

ITEM 5526. "GREEN MOUNTAIN / HJ&L (monogram) / CIDER BITTERS," aquamarine, cylindrical, smooth base, 10 11/16"H, applied double collar mint. American, C.1875, very rare.

Although it is not a "flashy" bottle, this still attractive cylinder is among Vermont's "best" bitters and it is listed by Ring as "exceptional." We have bought and sold several of the Henry, Johnson and Lord Cider Bitters in the past but aside from the labeled example with Gardner provenance (which I never should have sold - AARGH!!!) this is to my memory as fine an example as we have encountered.
