RARE GV-21 BLOWN THREE MOLD CELERY VASE

ITEM 5425. BLOWN THREE MOLD CELERY VASE, (McK GV-21), clear flint glass, ground pontil scar, 8 ¼"H, tooled rim, a mint vase exhibiting some minor wear and staining. American, probably blown at the Bakewell, Page and Bakewell Glass House, Pittsburgh, PA, 1820-1840, rare. Although I have seen this rare blown three mold article attributed to Sandwich, both Arlene Palmer and Lowell Innes have documented this to be a Pittsburgh product. Among the rarest and most attractive forms in which blown three mold can be found, this fine celery vase would truly be a centerpiece for any advanced collection of early glass. SOLD!
