RARE SUNBURST SCENT - BRILLIANT SAPPHIRE BLUE
ITEM 5056. SUNBURST SCENT BOTTLE, (HIII-3),
brilliant sapphire blue, beaded edge shield, pontil scar, 2 13/16"H,
a mint bottle with two pinhead-sized spots of lip roughness.
American, 1820-1840, extremely rare mold and color variation.
Lighter, brighter and prettier than other examples we have encountered,
this crisply embossed sunburst scent bottle is no cobalt but
rather a more delicate shade of sapphire blue in color.
