SCARCE AND CRUDE HIGHROCK CONGRESS SPRING QUART - DEEP OLIVE AMBER

 

 ITEM 4932. "HIGHROCK CONGRESS SPRING / 1767 / (motif of rock) / C & W / SARATOGA NY", (Tucker# S-36:A), deep olive amber, cylindrical, smooth base, quart, applied sloping collar with ring, about mint. American, probably blown at a Stoddard Glass Works, Stoddard, NH, C.1865, scarce.

More olive than amber, this EXTREMELY crude and seedy Stoddard quart-sized mineral water is as fine an example of the scarce S-36:A mold as one could hope to find.
