ITEM 4707. "HARRISON'S - COLUMBIAN - INK", brilliant sapphire blue, cylindrical, tubular pontil scar, 2 1/8"H, inwardly rolled mouth, about mint (two tiny, paper-thin base flakes that are noted for accuracy). American, probably blown at the Whitney Glass Works, Glassboro, NJ, C. 1850. It is this bottle's boldly embossed lettering,
deeper than normal color and heavily whittled glass that makes
it a singular example of a bottle collecting "classic." |
