ITEM 3630. MAGNUM-SIZED WHISKEY BOTTLE,
olive amber, two-piece mold cylinder, early smooth base, 11 3/8"H
x 3 ¾"D, applied sloping collar with ring, mint.
American, probably blown at the Dyottville Glass Works, Philadelphia,
PA, 1865-1875, rare.
If my memory serves me we have owned/seen only one or two other
bottles of this type over the past decade and both had some kind
of damage. Though it is not marked, this oversized whiskey bottle
is almost certainly Dyottville in origin, as the color, glass
texture and manufacturing techniques match documented Dyottville
Glass to perfection.
