RIBBED AND SWIRLED MIDWESTERN FLASK

ITEM 3627. PATTERN MOLDED FLASK, aquamarine, 18 ribs, ribbed and swirled to the right, pontil scar, 6 3/8"H, sheared and fire polished mouth, about mint (minor exterior wear and a faint band of interior haze). Blown at a Midwestern Glass House, 1820-1840.

This attractive pint-sized flask is a scarce piece of Midwestern Glass that shows evidence of both swirled and vertical ribs. Though this "double-dipped" treatment is seen quite frequently in the club form, flasks blown using this technique are relatively hard-to-find.
