ITEM 3478. CONE INK, bright olive green,
conical, pontil scar, 2 1/2"H x 2 1/8"D, sheared and
tooled mouth, mint. American, C. 1850, scarce color.
Though relatively common in shades of amber, this pure green
cone ink is a very scarce object and a particularly fine example
of its type. Bottles of this type were blown throughout New England
and though they are often attributed to Stoddard, it is equally
likely that they were blown in Keene or even at one of the Connecticut
Glass Houses.
