ITEM 3309. "PHOENIX / BITTERS -
PRICE $1 - JNO. MOFFAT - NEW YORK", (Ring# M110), bright
yellow olive, rectangular with beveled edges, pontil scar, 5
1/2"H x 2 9/16"W x 1 3/4"D, crudely applied mouth,
sparkling attic mint. American, 1830-1850, scarce.
Though the term is widely overused, this is truly "the finest
possible example" of an M110 Phoenix Bitters that we have
had the pleasure of offering. The bottle is not only ABSOLUTELY
PERFECT but also very boldly embossed and pleasingly crude. As
shown, the mouth treatment is also wonderful, as is the brilliant
nature of the never cleaned, never polished glass. If you are
looking to add a superior example of this bottle to your shelf,
THIS IS THE ONE!!!
