ITEM 3230. This well-loved redware bowl
is fresh from a Massachusetts estate and it is a much better
than average example of its type. The bowl was purchased along
with a Maine jar and it is my understanding that the two items
had "always been together." The unglazed exterior of
the bowl is evenly discolored (one would guess as a result of
cooking over an open flame) and heavily worn upon the base. Remarkably,
there is no damage other than a few minor glaze flakes on the
interior. Though it is certainly not flashy, this small (3 1/8"H
x 9 5/8" D) redware bowl is filled with soul.
