yellow with olive and amber tones, flattened chestnut form with
applied solid glass handle, pontil scar, 9 1/4"H x 6 1/4"W
at widest point x 3"D, applied mouth with ring, mint. Whitney
Glass Works, Glassboro, NJ, C. 1855, rare color.
No collection of South Jersey glass would be complete without
an example of a Chestnut Grove Whiskey and this is as good as
it gets. The discriminating collector will note not only the
exceptional color and crudity of this example but also the extra
care taken by the blower in creating and applying the handle.
You will NOT find a finer example of this desirable South Jersey
handled whiskey.
