RARE CONGRESS & EMPIRE PINT - BRIGHT FOREST GREEN WITH AMBER SWIRLS

 

 

ITEM 3169. "CONGRESS & EMPIRE SPRING CO / E / SARATOGA. N. Y.", (Tucker# E-6:b), bright forest green with profuse amber swirls, cylindrical, smooth base, pint, applied sloping collar with ring, about mint. Probably blown at the Saratoga Mountain Glass Works, Saratoga, NY, 1865-1875, rare.

It is the prominent amber swirl and extra-bubbly glass that lends this rare pint-sized mineral water its quirky charm.
