MINT STODDARD CLOVERLEAF PICKLE - BRIGHT ORANGE AMBER

ITEM 2952. CLOVERLEAF PICKLE JAR, (similar to Pappas, Plate# 11, top row, number 1), bright orange amber, generally square with eight rounded lobes, smooth base, 8 1/4"H x 3 1/16"W, crudely applied mouth, mint. Blown at a Stoddard Glass Works, Stoddard, NH, 1860-1872, very scarce. More "orange" than "amber" in color, this striking pickle jar is one of the more intriguing products of the various Stoddard Glass Works, as it is "unique" in form and construction. It has been quite some time since we have seen a mint example offered and of the few perfect specimens that we have handled over the years, this is arguably the most attractive. SOLD!
