ITEM 2941. DIP-MOLDED UTILITY JAR, yellow
olive, cylindrical with widely flaring mouth, tubular pontil
scar, 12 1/2"H x 5 1/2"D, sheared and fire polished
mouth, a mint jar with several interior open bubbles. Probably
Dutch, 1800-1840.
Almost certainly Dutch in origin, this wonderful utility jar
exhibits beautifully crude glass and the best possible form.
This is NOT one of the lightweight French jars that are flooding
the market but rather a thick, heavy and GUTSY jar with loads
of character.
