ITEM 2872. "GREELEY'S BOURBON /
BITTERS.", (Ring# G101), medium to deep copper, figural
barrel, smooth base, 9 3/8"H x 2 3/8"D, applied square
collar, sparkling attic mint. American, 1860-1875.
First purchased on Charles Street in Boston many years ago, this
truly "mint" barrel bitters has never seen the ground
or a cleaning tube. The bottle is MINT, MINT, MINT (do you get
the idea that it is mint?) and filled with a smattering of tiny
bubbles. The color is best described as "medium to deep
copper" or as Holly would tell you, "it's the color
of a brand new penny." Whatever the verbiage, this is a
GREAT piece in better than average color that is in perfect condition.
