ITEM 2870. "HALL'S / BITTERS - E.
E. HALL NEW HAVEN / ESTABLISHED 1842", (Ring# H10), bright
yellow amber, figural barrel, smooth base, 9 1/4"H x 2 3/8"D,
applied disc mouth, sparkling mint. American, 1875-1885.
You may have a Hall's in your collection with better color but
I doubt that many folks can lay claim to having a CRUDER example
of this popular bitters on their shelf. As shown, this wonderful
barrel is PLASTERED with vertical "barrel stave" whittling
that is even more pronounced than our photos indicate. Better
yet, the bottle is unequivocally MINT and the piece is blown
in a brighter than normal shade of yellow amber glass.
