ITEM 2721. CATHEDRAL PICKLE JAR, bluish aquamarine, square with fancy cathedral arches, smooth base, 8 5/16"H x 3 1/4"W, applied square collar, about mint (small stone near base with two 1/16" legs and some light, patchy interior haze or contents residue). Willington Glass Works, West Willington, CT, 1860-1872, rare.

This is the second of a pair of small Willington pickle jars that we bought this Fall and it is BEAUTIFUL example that is distinguished by an exceptionally fine mouth application. As we noted previously, the small Willington pickle is the hardest to obtain of the three sizes of pickles produced by this famed Northeastern Connecticut glass works and it is truly a RARE piece of glass.
