ITEM 2365. "LYNCH & CLARKE /
NEW YORK", (Tucker# C-1:C), bright yellow olive, two-piece
mold high-shouldered cylinder, sand chip pontil scar, quart,
applied sloping collar with ring, a mint, attic found bottle
exhibiting some minor exterior wear. Probably blown at the Mount
Vernon Glass Works, Mount Vernon, NY, 1823-1833, rare.
Rare in any condition, the quart-sized Lynch & Clarkes that
we have seen offered in the past several years have all been
damaged and with that in mind, we are pleased to offer what we
can confidently say is the BEST Lynch & Clarke quart to hit
the market in some time. And, though it is of course a mineral
water bottle, this crude and early beverage bottle transcends
that category alone, standing proud as a simply "great bottle"
that would be at home on ANY shelf.
