ITEM 2364. "PHOENIX / BITTERS -
PRICE 1 DOLLAR - JOHN MOFFAT - NEW YORK", (Ring# M113),
deep orange amber, rectangular with beveled edges, pontil scar,
5 1/2"H x 2 9/16"W x 1 5/8"D, outwardly folded
mouth, mint. American, possibly blown at the Newburgh Glass Works,
Newburgh, NY, C. 1850, a scarce mold that is extremely rare in
this pure, deep shade of amber.
Scarce in any color but EXTREMELY rare in amber, this M113 Phoenix
Bitters is truly a top-of-the-line bottle, with less than a handful
of known examples. Unequivocally mint and breathtakingly crude,
the bottle is not only rare but VERY beautiful as well and it
is quite simply the BEST One Dollar Phoenix that we have ever
seen offered for sale. Be bold and buy the best - this is a GEM!
