ITEM 1852. COLOGNE BOTTLE, brilliant
sapphire blue, 12-sided, oversized tubular pontil scar, 4 5/8"H
x 1 1/4"D, outwardly rolled collar, mint. Probably blown
at the Boston and Sandwich Glass Works, Sandwich, MA, 1845-1860,
scarcely seen with a pontil scar.
Exhibiting brilliant highly whittled glass and a delicate color,
this wonderful Sandwich cologne is a true "eye-catcher"
that is particularly beautiful when displayed in a sunny window.
As shown, the bottle features a HUGE tubular pontil scar that
fills base in its entirety and lends the piece a bit of whimsy.
(Shoot, the pontil is big enough to support a demijohn
)
This little gem will not disappoint!
